Professional Profile:

The training of the Industrial Automation technician aims at understanding the complexity of control systems and industrial processes, performing activities in the industrial area with emerging technology in automated systems. The professional must have the ability to solve problems related to automation systems, as well as undertake a critical view of all types of automated systems based on PLC (programmable logic controllers) and on data acquisition systems. They may also work in the installation and maintenance of computer networks and communication protocols, in addition to performing activities in automation systems of industrial processes: computerized numeric command (CNC), robotics and industrial instrumentation.

 

Scope of activity:

The professional graduated from this course will be able to act in industries, predominantly in those of continuous manufacturing processes, such as petrochemicals, and energy; to program, operate and maintain in operational conditions the automated systems, respecting the technical norms of health, safety and environment; to act in the design, execution, instrumentation and installation of control and automation systems used in industrial processes; to perform maintenance, measurements and tests on equipment used in automation and industrial process control; to know and apply safety, health and environment regulations, understanding society as a human construction endowed with time, space and history.
