The IT technician graduated from Bom Jesus campus is a professional qualified to:
- Know and operate the services and functions of the Operating System; install and use basic software and applications in general;
- Identify the components of a computer and verify the correct functioning of the equipment and software of the information system, interpreting guidelines of the manuals, as well as analyzing the operation between them;
- Identify the origin of faults in the operation of computers, peripherals and basic software, evaluating their effects and performing preventive and corrective maintenance;
- Install computers and their essential accessories;
- Coordinate activities of security guarantee of data stored in computer systems, performing backup, data restoring, preventing activities, detecting and removing viruses;
- Describe technical characteristics of equipment and components according to cost and benefit parameters, meeting the needs of the user;
- Select application programs according to user needs;
- Distinguish and evaluate programming languages and environments, applying them in software development;
- Select the appropriate solutions to correct faults in the operation of computers, peripherals and software;
- Get to know and use the computer resources in the treatment of sound, image and animation, as well as identify the corresponding files;
- Create and develop internet pages, websites and graphic designs;
- Produce audiovisuals on digital media;
- Identify physical media, devices and communication standards, recognizing the implications of their application in the network environment;
- Analyze the characteristics of available physical media and digital and analog transmission techniques, stablishing a relation between them;
- Understand network architectures and identify network operating systems;
- Install network devices, physical means and control software of these devices, analyzing their operation and relation between them;
- Know network protocols, services and functions of network servers and network access and security policies;
- Create and use database, with an understanding of its need and usage techniques, applying in practice the management of a DBMS as well as its structured query languages.
